  2. 10.12 Deacon Board meeting excerpts:
    • The 2025 church budget was discussed after reviewing the plans and budgets of various departments. It will be finalized with the final figures by October 18, following revision and amendment.
    • Pastor Bill’s four-month sabbatical, after his six years of service at PGMBC, has been approved by the deacon board upon reviewing his plan. The sabbatical will commence on December 9, 2024, and last for three months until March 8, 2025, with the understanding that the remaining month will be taken later in the year.
    • The professional sketch regarding the church renovation from the architectural firm was tabled. Consultations will be conducted among various stakeholders to gather more opinions before deciding on the feasibility and priority of the renovation projects to be implemented within the $800,000 budget.
  3. Thanks to the old and new Deacons and Dept. Chairpersons who attended the 10/12 meeting. The Deacon Board established the upcoming Time Schedule for the AGM:
    • 10/26 all reports of old and new deacons and dept chairpersons received in point form to be incorporated into the 2024 AGM booklet
    • 11/9 draft of Report & Plan done & ready to be reviewed by the deacons
    • 11/21 AGM booklet finalized by the Deacon Board
    • 11/22 AGM booklet released to the congregation
    • 11/22-24 Pre-AGM Family Chat to answer questions
    • 12/1 AGM to resolve questions and vote

Prayer-Gospel-Mission-Bible-Caring

  1. In-Person English Ministries Prayer Time on Wednesday, 10/30, at 7:30 p.m., please come in through the gym entrance. We will take the first 20 minutes to learn more about praying as Jesus taught us to pray. Then, we will follow up that time with a time of praying together, focusing not only on the needs within our church but also on our community. For further information, contact Pastor Donand watch for follow-up announcements.
  2. The current offering for the mission as of October 20 is $67,854, while the mission budget for 2024 is $92,500
  3. 2024 LightHouse Harbour Ministries: Next visit date is 11/14(Thu) 7-9:30pm. Pastor Audrey will lead the Mandarin members and others to serve.
  4. Missions Trip to Casa de Luz in Mexico

A trip is being planned for next year to go on a missions trip to Casa de Luz in Primo Tapia, Mexico. The date that has been tentatively set is the week of July 5th to July 12th. The plan is to form a team made up of individuals as well as families. Please feel free to contact Pastor Don if you have any questions, but set this date aside and mark your calendars!

  1. 11/4-6 Short Term Mission Trip to Vancouver Island under the leadership of CCM Small Town Mission Ministry.
  2. The deacon board has allocated an additional $2,000 to the Administrative Department for subsidizing attendees of the upcoming Winter Conference. Forty applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, with further details to be provided in the future.
  3. Please refer to the Cantonese Bulletin for outreach programs to invite your Cantonese speaking family members and friends to join.
