  2. Excerpts from DB Meeting on Jun 10, 2023:
  • From June 25 onwards, the English, Mandarin, JAM worships and Cantonese Sunday School will start at 10 am. If there’s a PG Family breakfast, the meetings will begin at 10:15 am.
  • Various renovation ideas have been proposed by the Renovation Committee and will be prioritized based on urgency.
  • The mid-year family chat is scheduled for July 2, with three in-person sessions; the first one in Cantonese at 10 am to 11:15 am, and the second and third in Mandarin and English from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm. It will additionally take place virtually on July 7 from 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm in Cantonese on Zoom and English on Meet and on July 8 also from 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm in Cantonese only on Zoom.
  • The church Community Day has been rescheduled for August 19. It is possible that it could be a collaborative event with CCM.
  • In response to the urgent request for funds to cover the building cost of Richmond Pacific Grace MB Church, it was offered an initial donation of $20,000. This will aid in reducing the current deficit, subject to approval in a special general meeting yet to be arranged. The church’s needs will be presented first in the family chat.
  • APS will purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the procedures for its use will be established.
  • The DB has accepted Rev. Isaac Man’s request to become a volunteer coordinator for the ministry assisting Hong Kong newcomers. He will begin in July and meet with parishioners who are involved in this outreach ministry. Along with them, he could also recruit, gather, and train additional volunteers to assist. Based on the assessment of the ministry’s performance during July and August and his schedule for the last four months of 2023, he may either accept the position of director for the HK Newcomers ministry in September or continue as a volunteer. The position must be officially taken up by no later than January 2024.

  1. This Sunday, Pastor Don will continue the series “A Story to Live and Tell,” focusing on the Book of Ruth. He will pick the series up each month on the date that he is scheduled to preach.
