How it all began
Formerly known as Pacific Grace Mission Chapel located at 1857 Frances St., Vancouver BC. Pacific Grace MB Church began with the support of the MB Board of Church Extension. In its early days, it was an English speaking ministry with participating ethnic Chinese. In 2009, moved to 2855 E. 1st Ave. Vancouver BC for extension.
The first fellowship was established in 1963 and the first Sunday worship was held in March 1964. As the number of participating Chinese continued to grow, the church extended its evangelistic efforts to the Chinese community. Because of the increasing size, the Chinese department was officially established and distinguished from the English section in 1974. In 1977, the English section proposed dissolving and in 1981, Pacific Grace Mission Chapel was officially renamed as Pacific Grace Chinese Church which catered to ethnic Chinese.
Burnaby Pacific Grace Chinese Church was planted in 1990. In 1995, another site for evangelism was established in south Vancouver. The one church two-site model continued and planted the North Shore Pacific Grace MB Church together. Until 1998, the south site then became the South Vancouver Pacific Grace MB Church. Our site was also renamed as Pacific Grace MB Church.
A reflection of the past shows that God has indeed graciously blessed the Church. He sent various servants to lead the church during different periods of time. After Rev. Paul Li, the first pastor, had rested and returned to the Lord, God sent Rev. Eddie Chu, Rev. Enoch Wong and Rev. David Chan to shepherd the congregation. After Rev. Chan was called to serve in Hong Kong Alliance Bible Seminary in 2007, Rev. Xavier Law was the Senior Pastor 2011-2021.1. Thereafter, Rev. David Chan is now the Lead Pastor of the church.
