Guidelines for Cancellation of in-person Sunday gatherings: In case of inclement weather or unforeseen events, the lead pastor, in consultation with the Executive Committee, will decide by 6:00 am on Sunday whether to cancel in-person Sunday gatherings and switch to online activities. A message will be sent to all WhatsApp groups, posted on the church’s website & Facebook. Leaders, please ensure that your members are informed to join the Zoom meetings instead.     • The 2025 church budget was discussed after reviewing the plans and budgets of various departments. It will be finalized with the final figures by October 18, following revision and amendment.
    • Pastor Bill’s four-month sabbatical, after his six years of service at PGMBC, has been approved by the deacon board upon reviewing his plan. The sabbatical will commence on December 9, 2024, and last for three months until March 8, 2025, with the understanding that the remaining month will be taken later in the year.
    • The professional sketch regarding the church renovation from the architectural firm was tabled. Consultations will be conducted among various stakeholders to gather more opinions before deciding on the feasibility and priority of the renovation projects to be implemented within the $800,000 budget.
  3. Thanks to the old and new Deacons and Dept. Chairpersons who attended the 10/12 meeting. The Deacon Board established the upcoming Time Schedule for the AGM:

    • Pastor Audrey has signed a one-year contract commencing October 1, 2024 working no less than 30 hours per week.
    • The one-year contract of Pastor David as part time intentional interim pastor commencing January 1,2025 is in preparation.
    • The Staff Review Group for Pastor Jason and Pastor Victor will be completed to help them enhance their ministry before year’s end in the presence of a lead pastor.
    • Pastor Bill’s request for stress leave on September 16 was accepted, and it will be from October 21 to November 20. Pastor Bill is also entitled to four months’ sabbatical leave after serving full-time in PGMBC for six years since March 1, 2018.
    • The proposed organizational structure of the church and the different responsible persons were endorsed and shown as attached in the bulletin. The new proposed church structure does not require a change in the present church bylaws.
    • The 2025 PGMBC speakers’ honourarium guidelines were adopted.
    • The latest version of the mission department handbook was adopted.
    • The details of implementing the church privacy policy were clarified.
    • The deacon representatives of the 2025 nominating committee are Geraldine Lai and Denise Lau.
